A review of Bollywood’s Independence day releases (after Netflix failed to impress us)

Ab Sacred Games ke liye Daring Nahi karne ka!

We decided to rely on the ‘real bollywood’ for entertainment this week since Sacred Games failed to win our hearts. Here’s what we thought:

Mission Mangal 🚀 is an over-dramatized affair that fails to make us relive the story of India’s most critical space mission |(IMDB – 6.7/10)

The list of stars casted to portray ISRO’s Mars Orbiter Mission (from 2014) had us excited from the first moment on and while they did their best to entertain us (with humor and drama), the script was full of irrelevant sub-plots that make the narrative draggy and the experience – satisfactory

Batla house ⚖️ is an action-packed thriller | (IMDB – 8.1/10)

John manages to lead as the brooding hero perfectly as the movie talks about the Delhi Police encounter that occurred a week after the 26/11 blasts. The story touches multiple themeslike duty, patriarchy, law system, religion and terrorism and while most movies fail to balance them, Batla house did well.
